If the Nazi Youth were energized
To become ideologically pure
The World War Two era Japanese students
Were equally indoctrinated
The children of the Soviet Union suffered
Faced with war and cold war limitations
Made to believe in the nation of their birth
Was the family they needed
And told someday
They too would become the apparatus
Gears of a machine
Cogs of the wheel of state
How much more are our own children today
Being made pawns and clones of the nation
By watching television, movies, games, phones
Focusing upon pure materialistic escape
The reward is immediate, easy, quick to play
Their desire to learn made weak by the way
We have every reason to plant intellectual seeds
Instead we fail
We could stop the failure
By praising the good
Lifting up those who cultivate honor
And benevolence to others
Not greed, not pleasure seeking
By giving to those who have suffered
Freedom, hope, a voice
For we must not devour the young
Rob them of their vision
Consume our future
The hopelessness will reign
What we've taught is how a modern society becomes insane
We take the responsibilities from fathers and mothers
Force those upon teachers and messengers of culture
We obscure the fact that it is every adult, it is we
Who ought to be the focal point of blame
Not the children, who are our victims
