Many assume that the lives people lived in antiquity
Must have been unfulfilling, hopeless and difficult
Why would we think that, unless we have a reason
For social roles, opportunities compared to modernity?
Or is it the general beliefs held, or ideas leading to results
Is it the idea that our modern life has greater meaning
And without such, there is no reason to bother living
Born to the era we are born we must endure and go on
It matters not one bit if we are willing
Existence is more than circumstance
It far more than chance, more than timing
Because we exist regardless of our desire
To find purpose means we are trying
But each era has traits that are more than good
Each generation produces humans
Who have courage and genius
That our species will see as defining
Existence is more than circumstance
It far more than chance, more than timing
Because we exist regardless of our desire
To find purpose means we are trying
But each era has traits that are more than good
Each generation produces humans
Who have courage and genius
That our species will see as defining
