The Shadows of Faith

I bled for you
And you abused me
I am emptied at the core
I've tasted of the bitter seed
In the dark shadows of your faith
Your sins cover me
As I lay I am awash in sorrow
I've entered the shallows
The mysteries surround me
Your acts left me hollowed
In your supposed magnificence
In this curious deep
Is a confluence of tears
And vapid, vain greed
You've led me to be betrayed
For I've given freely
Fighting for your every day
Giving of my being
While you sit back and criticize
All the while
You've stolen my tomorrow

“Doctoring her seemed to her as absurd as putting together the pieces of a broken vase. Her heart was broken. Why would they try to cure her with pills and powders?”  Leo Tolstoy
