Time Flies when you're dying

As seconds tic away
The final toll is counted
Remembering solemnly
That lives are not cheap
Every death is a tragedy
Not a statistic, nor a waste
If one has never had enough
He nonetheless has worth
If the life was not well beloved
Even if the life was broken and old
Too young to have been given a name
Never a waste to be alive
Life is both tragic and comedic
And some of us panic in the face
Of losing all we love
So we surrender our power
To ensure safety
We will live our lives
Being less wild less hopeful
With less joy per hour
And fewer seconds per day
