The Burning Village

As the crows circle the field
Lessons now have been drawn
The crops burn and raise smoke
A year's harvest will have no yield
For the enemy Norse have moved on
Upon the arrival the village lost all hope
Falling before the North men
The violence would become a flood
Hunters of the sea and predators of man
Seeking conquest and new lands
The world forged by Norsemen hands
Crossing dangerous oceans
Conquerors now gone berserk
Vikings become Europe's burden
Collecting the treasure and goods
And when the north men approach
The innocent would flee the deluge
