Crashing Landward

“But as in landlessness alone resides the highest truth, shoreless, indefinite as God - so better is it to perish in that howling infinite, than be ingloriously dashed upon the lee, even if that were safety! For worm-like, then, oh! who would craven crawl to land!”  Herman Melville

How can we escape the crushing paradigms
Where God exists as well as free will divine
Do we act as if our flesh is allowed to dictate
Or surrender to the spirit, and winds of fate?
We live in a wild and manic world of power
Small fragile beings, beneath giants we cower
The world has been brought low by our hand
We do not obey, we don't know or understand
Our path leads to sorrow, grieving and pain
Trying to escape fate, leads one to go insane
Everything that lives will someday also die
Not before learning the truth, all fall to time
