When the Earth is Wounded

We live in a world that has been cruelly abused
The land colored by destruction, famine and wars
Once a pristine place, now scorched black by fire
Our beautiful world has been broken and scarred
Those who are responsible will not be refused
The hunger forces them to continually consume
A world's resources emptied by us, even carved
The future hopes have been burned upon a pyre
Where the children of new generations will starve
Leading to disaster, and a destiny that is doomed

“Handling a dead body is not a repugnant or frightening
experience and, somehow,
it helps to accept the fact that
the soul of that person has gone if you treat the body

with reverence and respect before it is finally disposed of
by cremation or burial.”
