What you see as reality is not that
Nor is it experience or knowledge
Eternity need not be divine
It exists apart from the gods
Mortals live one existence
There is the one chance
Filled with regret
For the immortals
They fight
To achieve something deeper
To correct the true timeline
They possess numerous forms
Live for different loves, and dreams
The truth is
Humans cannot begin to see
All that is real
The Children of the Ankh
Might be perceived as vampires
Thought to consume the soul
Perhaps even with fire
But they live in ways
We can not imagine
Nor possibly know
The spiral of reality
Spins with a purpose
Ever weaving, ever turning
And the Children of the Ankh
Possess a drive inside burning
Half mad from what they know
Half sane, as forever has a taste
Darkness, love and immortality
All breed a sort of flame
But it is a flame divine
Wherein each clan of eternals
Fight for dominance
Over each time stream
Only one clan will win
Humans better hope the right ones do
For eternity is a very long time
