If you think contrarianism is a big word
There are words of larger size
Or of deeper layered meaning
Solipsism, for instance
Is the epitome of a selfish being
But we all think we're independent
We want to believe that we know best
Told what substance and manner to think
We don't want to, conformity is ruin
So we fight it inside
We do the opposite or do nothing
Or just say no, this is my existence
You only exist for my pleasure
We are happy with convenience
Even if they are lies, maybe especially so
We can add all that which will comfort us
If they make us discomforted
Or then we can quit in disgust
When we are sick
Suffering from pestilence
We blame the government
Or foreigners
When we are angry we blame others
If we are rich we blame the poor
If we are poor we blame the rich
More often we just refuse to admit
Our thoughts might fit a category
Or worse, we might be complicit
Remember, all that humans value
Is neither the same, nor even similar
We might become rich by the end
We might enjoy counting that
But money might be counterfeit
Just like our supposed life
We might be fake, and worthless
As we think we are worth millions
And yet, still not worth a cent
