Steel

With coal for the fires
Molten iron for blades
With flesh for the labor
The sweat, always tired
Their blood was the wage
But they grew strong
They competed
Like no others
Because steel is our mother
Like all countries before it
America was forged
By miners and steel men
By child workers
Giving their bodies and youth
And dutiful powerful mothers
Who brought forth generations
Who labored for a living
The days are gone of such drive
Yet this day is still burning
Should the empire be fallen
We will remain alive
For our ancestors are calling
They are wise, knowing
Their voices tell us
Keep making steel
Keep pouring fire
Steel made us great
In times of decadent splendor
Desires fed, lust for pleasure
While the world chooses rage
Only steel will save you
Not sex, nor useless treasures
Pursue these at your own peril
For steel still rules the day
