If humans continue in their drive to leave earth, it won't be long
Even if it required an arms race and cold war to enable first steps
Whether it was a satellite, or human piloted craft into near orbit
Or to finally reach, orbit and land upon the moon, with humans
Days of our space travel thought as simply dreams were now gone
The space race over, a future ready for missions, even if complex
Some day humans will use forms of propulsion other than rockets
To visit Mars, Europa, Titan and other places is worth pursuing
It is only a matter of time and interest to achieve our destiny
To discover new worlds, and plant the human flag in alien soil
