1881, March 13

His people called him Czar Liberator as the name for his reign
He gave freedom to the serfs, the workers of the land enslaved
Not liberal in his outlook, he did this for the benefit of the state
Upon March 13, 1881 Czar Alexander II of Russia was cursed
He paid for reforming but not far enough, and was assassinated
His end came at the Winter Palace in great city of St. Petersburg
He freed those enslaved, but the monarchy was a caste of birth
While he freed others, he paid the cost of being upon a throne
Recognizing that only those of noble blood could have worth
