I don't worry for tomorrow

There'll come a day
When we think about the present
Being aware and able
To be good for good's sake
Be generous for generosity's sake
And never have to pretend
Not be worried
I don't worry about the future
I can't remember humanity's past
I've watch the inhumane ways we live
We've taken this world to the butcher
And we've portioned the meat to last
But will our world ever forgive
The sins we've committed
I sorrow
I grieve
I pray for a world
That can live beyond its vision
I long for a tomorrow
That can for once be
More than the hunger at the moment
Rise above the division
Better than the indecision our leaders have shown

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
