This modern life offers great opportunities, most good but some bad, and with all that, we are still about to allow something vile. If we do not act, the elephant, a large land mammal, will go extinct. This should be our highest charge, to save those creatures we have the ability to save. Saying that they will be lost isn't from the ability to predict. It comes from the most basic vision. We cannot give in to the traders, those hungry for ivory, or to take the land upon which they live. We might as well live in caves, if we ignore the slaughter. Wildlife sacrificed upon an altar, of being reticent to save the wild, and ignorance for the greater cause. Saving the life of those less able to save themselves.
