Gear

“Smooth shapes are very rare in the wild but extremely important in the ivory tower and the factory.” Benoit Mandelbrot

Every moment we turn
We grind against the steel
And all there is
Is the sound of decay
Destruction
And horror
Reviled
Day by day
Consumed
By the toll of life
How much is left
To the ticking clock
Every second dances
Falls away lost to our hands

Azrael calls
We are fools
To ignore
We are ground
Into dust
But we go on
Until our lost
Are found
Until
The way is known
There is often so little hope
The cost is great
When we die
We are all nude
And gray
And cold

We are left with nothing
But leave knowing
There was something
Worth living for
Something to wait for
Before dying
We endure
For there is purpose
We live
For there is something
Righteous
In us
To find

Before we leave
Forever
Take my hand
I leave soon
But not before
I know
Before I find
What is righteous
In me

Comedy for the Humorless

I was born to a woman who had been raped
Adopted by two broken people
Raised to be moral, and perfect
In a world
So not perfect
So not moral
Set to reject
One like me
Life is a comedy
A tragedy
A balance
Between the foolish
And the pain
A dance in the darkness
Of the blind and the lost
Into the abyss we are tossed
Oblivious to the cost
We dance
And have no hope

Death is an end of one day

Step away from reality
Forget about finality
Living is not the answer
Life is a fatal disease
Walk into the doorway
Walk upon a different stage
Walk upon the balcony
Enter in to a different place
Don’t be worried
Its all been arranged
Have an embrace
A kiss before dying
Azrael has been waiting
However you’ve come
You won’t be back
Forgive my apathy
No more wasting
No more desire
No more hope
Only fire
Only darkness
Only atrophy
So don’t wait long
Don’t worry nor weep
Don’t wail nor sadly sing
Time is a fantasy
Reality is endless
So long as you understand
Birth is a symphony
Death is an end of a single day
Life is a tragedy
Of a one act play
Living is a tune
Eternity is a rhapsody
A shout in a valley
A moment of exhilaration
Victory

Overcome

The sounds of labor and machines
The screams of laborers
Crying for freedom and sleep
Nothing remains but to labor and to toil
Workers crushed by the machines they serve
We dream of freedom, of love and hope
But we labor and toil endlessly
Becoming unaware of the cost
Our children follow
Mindlessly
Devoting
Flesh and blood
To the growing piles
Of material lust
Who are we to question
Or wonder if we are in
Denial
That the world we've made
Is nothing like
The world we were given
That we have corrupted
Eden
And now we are living
As mechanical drones
Decay preventing our rise
To overcome the destiny
The lies of fate
Our pained legacies
Of our dreams
Crushed under steel
When our world was
Green
Fruitful
Plentiful
Enough for all
And now we burgeon
beyond our means
Forgetting the pride
That goes before our fall
We have earned the end
We have deserved the decay
For we created it
Invited it
And no one
Is the better for it

Overcome

Fætus Tunnel

Desperate
Relentless
Fetus reaching
Trying to enter
Attempting to follow
Driven and empty
Hollow shell dark
The tunnel goes
To nowhere
Vainly lit
Against the abyss
That pulls it forth
From the world
Of light
Falling through
A black vacuous place
To land upon
Some unsolid ground
And taste the earth
Beneath the feet
Of a child
Newborn to the world
As the vapors
Of eternity swirl
Wildly tempting
Wildly driving
All
Entering the tribe
As an unequal
Knowing one must
Kill or die
A man stands up
Ready to live
Dying of thirst
Ready to feed
Rather than reenter
The tunnel
From his mother
Earth
Or from within
His soul
Who gave him birth

We Are The Children

In the midst of the heavens
Is a world of green and blue
Spinning in the darkness
Lit by the sun
In glorious light embued
So holy and sacred
And life when begun
Is so beautiful
Fresh, and naked
Nude to Gods’ eyes
Serene and new
Without guile
Without disguise
We dance
We are children of the green
The kin of the forest
The fae of the earth
We hover between this world and dreams
We sing as if in chorus
We are blessed beyond any curse
Life will follow the rivers and streams
To the oceans and their course
So that the land may quench its thirst
As rain falls and renews
The children of the blue
That will nurture our being
Floods our lands
Falls as morning dew
With life, and growth
The horizon is not the limit
We are one with the blue
We are one with the green
