Frozen in blood
Two ravens fly above the river
Where Napoleon's Grand Armee
Either crossed or was slaughtered
The river frozen by winter's cold
The bridges barely holding
The army and its load
30,000 died
For want of safe passage
The retreat from Russia
A bloody badge of courage
For the few who survived

An Invite
I am waiting
For forever
So come in
Welcome to my world
Welcome to a place
Where so few find life
Worthy of keeping
Come Lord Death
Let us sit a while
Together here
I would like to speak
Because
I have no love of you
Of what you offer
But rather
I am tired of this existence
Of the pain and suffering
I see
I embrace your hand
Kiss your lips
And take dying from you
For it is nothing
If it is not feared
It is joy
To slip free
From the years
That anchor me
To this place
For so long
For so long
I beg only one indulgence
Without tears
For you to stand and watch
As I dance upon your grave
And finally see
A life that was saved
When given back
When I stopped worrying
About the end

“When death, the great reconciler, has come, it is never our tenderness that we repent of, but our severity.” T.S. Eliot

Lazarus

Resurrected
Awaiting and new
Flesh born over
Living is proof
There is the skin
The organs beneath
The breath in the lungs
The new born screams
He called
I slept
He woke me
From that sleep
And gave me new life
Better than a dream
For the sorrows of my sisters
And family moved him
He returned the spark
To this clay
I no longer resisted
His call
And I awoke
Fully whole
Alive

Decayed flesh and DNA
The moment of birth
Just the beginning
Life is decay
Filled with sorrow
There is only dust here
But for this flesh of clay
The twisting
Of our words
Of our flesh as it hangs
Upon the tree
The wind blows us
From side to side
Nothing to grieve
Nothing left to say
But that our lives
Were not meant to be this way
Not meant to end this way
We all must die
But we should live
Before
Rather than erode
With this decay
Let others spin
In the abyss
Let them sort out
My decay
Let them fall through
The bottom floor
Rooted in my failure
Added to the pile
Every living day
Let them drown in the
Spirals of my DNA
I would rather resist
And exist
Without this betrayal
That ends this life

Death is an end of one day

Step away from reality
Forget about finality
Living is not the answer
Life is a fatal disease
Walk into the doorway
Walk upon a different stage
Walk upon the balcony
Enter in to a different place
Don’t be worried
Its all been arranged
Have an embrace
A kiss before dying
Azrael has been waiting
However you’ve come
You won’t be back
Forgive my apathy
No more wasting
No more desire
No more hope
Only fire
Only darkness
Only atrophy
So don’t wait long
Don’t worry nor weep
Don’t wail nor sadly sing
Time is a fantasy
Reality is endless
So long as you understand
Birth is a symphony
Death is an end of a single day
Life is a tragedy
Of a one act play
Living is a tune
Eternity is a rhapsody
A shout in a valley
A moment of exhilaration
Victory

Wearing the Obsidian Cloak

We wear the cloak
Of obsidian black
For our sorrows
Mocking oblivion
We are the entrants
To modern Babylon
Our ears hear the sound
From demonic chants
All are cursed
In chains of flesh bound
And we shake in pain
Of the truth
We are the cause
We built hell
We are proof
Given Eden
We choose death
Given life
We choose the end
Given hope
We elect despair
We built this place
We poured out blame
We burned our beings
We embraced shame
Hell is our own creation
To punish our selves
For our greatest crime
Of destroying Eden
Destroying our world
There is nothing left
But our own guilt
We are unforgiven
By our own embrace

No Straight Line

“There are no facts, only interpretations.” Friedrich Nietzsche
Unglaublich, I am amazed
Completely horrified
By the abject waste
Of lives and potential
Thrown away
Nothing matters but our desire
Our lust and inner fires
So ignore the world
Ignore the consequences
Build walls so high, erect electric fences
Buy guns, build defenses
Herd the ignorant, breed the drones
To dig our ditches like mindless clones
We desire pleasure beyond anything
We treasure our blessed leisure
So fuck the world let there be darkness
For there is nothing beyond this
We are time, we are flesh, we are God
Let your praises to me sing
For I am all there is
And all there will ever be
Is me
We are self made divine
Self christened as deity
In all of nature
There is not a single
Straight line
Nor eventually
Will there be
Humanity
“Mathematics would certainly have not come into existence if one had known from the beginning that there was in nature no exactly straight line, no actual circle, no absolute magnitude.” Friedrich Nietzsche

Elysian Hands

Already I’ve been kissed
Let a coin be placed
Upon my lips
And upon each eye
Let Azrael be blessed
For allowing me to die
Quietly, silently
Without pain
Or despair
I now wait
To ride upon
Charon’s boat
To cross the rivers
Acheron and Styx
Without delay
For the world of the dead
Is distinct from that of the living
Where the days pass slowly
Where dreams are forgiving
I long to be there
Laying in Elysian hands
Where the sunlight is ever dim
Late summer sun upon the horizon
The kissed beauty of lands
Meant to be comforting
Meant to be quiet
Made perfect by Gods
Not spoiled by man

The Dominion of Death
Make no mistake, the angel Azrael will visit you. He visits everyone.

There will be an end to all things as sure as Night closes Day, while the spectre of death will haunt and the angel of death will slay, Every moment wasted is a greater death to face for the seconds that pass will never come again, no matter the words of or manner of the things you pray.
The plagues you hold close to your heart will wound you for the sins you act upon will not soothe or help you in the quest to learn the truth, there is no answer for your acts, no easy solutions to the pain, but these attacks, will surely drive you insane.

Death will come,
The plague doctor cannot stop it
Death will be here soon
You cannot pay its cost

"Death most resembles a prophet who is without honor in his own land or a poet who is a stranger among his people." Kahlil Gibran

Terminal Evidence Of Life

We fall down, crying
Remembering our lives
Seeing them dying
Who are we to think
We are anything more
Than the dust that blows
Through the final door

Every death is a moment of time
We forget who we are, as the clock unwinds
We see ourselves as fading
We dream of our past
And the dead live inside us
As we forget to live
This world begs our favor
But we relinquish that fate
Our destiny too foreboding
Our dreams we savor
Our greed insatiate
We fear our lives will fade
Disappear, stop
Quicker than they took to create

We are the living
Though we rarely live but exist
We are the present
But the echoes of the past persist
We are the future
God help me to see
Life is more than insisting
Or resisting our fate
It is a jubilee
