The first morning of the day of creation
I woke up to see a world free from decay
Mankind had yet to wreak his corruption
The morning mist refreshing, it had a taste
As when love first strikes, hope comes rushing
When then I closed my eyes, clouded with haze
I waited, touched the air around me in seduction
I realized what I found once would never return
And my life stopped, inside my sorrow burned
For what was once, will never be again
Such as it is that all my sins remain
Unwashed, unclean, unredeemed
I somehow still believe
Baptized in faith, standing in the rain
