A Life Remembered Well

The sweet vision of the Holy Grail
Drove me from all vainglories, rivalries,
And earthly heats that spring and sparkle out
Among us in the jousts, while women watch
Who wins, who falls; and waste the spiritual strength
Within us, better offered up to Heaven.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson

What if everything we do is recorded
This story we have created of our life
Is helping others find their way through
What if reaching Heaven was based upon
What you did without being at all rewarded
Not by money made, nor if business thrived
What if you spent your one life in truth
And you helped others find the new dawn
Life is more than visceral pleasures
It is more than gold and treasure
Life is to be lived in an epic way
You will always be remembered
For your worth, long after you've gone
