Soaking Wet

Wet, soaked through by the thunderstorm's tears
We held each other, and remembered all the years
Scent of the rain and our bodies just like jasmine
Feel of our bodies, next to each other, like satin
When you feel the love, everything feels perfect
But even if your vision isn't perfect
Clarity doesn't come from the senses
Soaking wet might make you cold, or feel clean
Scent of street and rain might include gasoline
You make it through, because you know how to
It works somehow, whatever you are going through
Because love makes things better
No matter the weather
It creates the moment
Holding onto that is impossible
And somehow we're still here
After 30 more years
