oh so old

I was young when I turned adult, but oh so old
My life was empty but so full and cold
My soul was broken from the beginning
They said I was an old soul, but the devil was grinning
My flesh decayed and betrayed me
As if a game that said come and play me
I had to use opiates, without relief I hoped to kill the daily pain
I couldn't be helped, irretrievable, laid out dead in the rain
