A Confluence of Crimson and Bone

They laid there on a field of battle, confluence of bodies
Crimson red on all victims, the allegiance didn't matter
Each end of bayonet, both attacker and victim, a human
Reasons for the battle, being a cause of that catastrophe
Heroism or fear, courage or fleeing, the reasons scattered
In this war there are no winner, many losers, confusion
End allowing only decay, flesh in corruption, shattered
All ended life byviolence, chance and circumstance

“Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor
how justified, is not a crime.”   Ernest Hemingway
