Frozen love

My flesh turned blue, my flesh grown cold
Your love paled my heart, with you I'm old
Winter inside, frozen tears, watch them fall
Love you've broken me, on the ice I sprawl
My breath is frost, and your love has a cost
With the wind stealing my warmth, I'm lost
My life isn't over, but I have barely survived
So I ask, is it winter anywhere, or just inside
I used to think if I'm with you I am home
But I know I've lost my hope, and I'm alone

“Wintery day,
On my horse
A frozen shadow.”  Matsuo Bashō,
