In the Depths of My Soul

The past is gone and I can't change what was done
I was wrong and time between us talking too long
Forgive my stupidity, I'm without charms or lucidity
My regrets are legion, and my words were treason
If I could speak truth just once, I'd make the plunge
I'd try to let you know that in the depths of my soul
I deeply burn with the desire to know you are whole
Well and healed of the effects of my foolish words
I'd long to be your blessing rather than your curse

“There was a long hard time when I kept far from me
the remembrance of what I had thrown away when I
was quite ignorant of its worth.”  Charles Dickens
