traveler

Faced with the cold open air
The traveler lives but is unprepared
With oxygen hose still attached
He exists by being, not upon facts
Bright he is, yet unable to perceive
With modern language slow to receive
He is smarter than anything alive
Born hungry but ready to thrive
Surviving this world, will change it
Doing things none but he can explain
He is born unto a set of expectations
The blessed child of all generations
He is our only hope to still exist
There are many dangers he'll resist
They may burden him
They may destroy his will
But he has the strength within
His nature is deeply instilled
He is our child
The sum total of our flaws
Next to him we appear wild
Still he takes upon him our cause
