Is it your capacity to sleep, eat, breathe or dream
That gives you a life more valuable or important
We abort fetus, we allow euthanasia, we make war
Are we to assume that government is our mother
Does government determine what we can believe
Or are we lying about life, and are simply orphans
Without a family we limit what life can be
Because to linger in indecision might leave scars
Is our awareness an attempt to become more
Than flesh that walks
Than monkeys that talk
Who are we
And why do we care?
Is this world just lies agreed upon
Or have we entered a place where
We fear becoming modernity's heir
