Restoration

At last a human breathed air, it took many decades
Mars wasn't our species' first home but it'd work out
It was close enough to Earth, newly made fertile
Waters long, deep had carved scars deep upon Mars
And then colonists arrived, after drone terraformed
The decade of work, moss colonies were implanted
A Red planet was now oxygenated, becoming green
Believe: a world that could sustain oxygen required life
Sustaining native plants and dormant lakes and rivers
The change was in the end a rebirth, a new salvation
A home, one we had to work to bring into being
