The Mask

You said it was wrong for me to take such a chance, so I shouldn't ask
If I was right I wouldn't need to know as if I'd found the circumstance
But if life isn't a masquerade, and if we aren't doing that happy dance
Why wear a mask, why a disguise, unless I need to hide my face
As if I am special, or as if my life would be composed of lies?
