They tell us to take life as it comes
But we watch in loneliness at others
Who have everything that we might want
Together, happy, seeming to be whole
But I'm aware of what it might become
Life gives some a wholeness that covers
But refuses some as their heart grows gaunt
None are offered easy choices, we all churn within
We make our own and our counsel is not to envy
The choices of others whether of glory or sin
So I've learned to give in
To the small voice telling me
We are all flawed, do not be proud
To let go, to give greatly
Love fully when life allows
